National footballer Alvin Jones is proud to give back to his community through the first edition of the Alvin Jones Easter Football and Mentorship Clinic.

The clinic will be hosted at the Hasely Crawford Stadium from April 1-2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day and will serve youths from 11-17 years old from the communities of Carenage (Jones’ hometown), Diego Martin, Cocorite, Dibe and Maraval.

It is being hosted by the organisation, Unveil Athletes in partnership with the Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago. So great has been the response that organisers Unveil Athletes report that the camp is now full.

“We are bursting at the seams with excitement. Thank you to all who have registered! Get ready to dominate the field,” the organisers announced via Instagram. ⁣

Jones, who recently represented Trinidad and Tobago in their CONCACAF Nations League Play-In qualifier loss to Canada, expressed his pride at the opportunity to impact his community.

“This is the perfect time to give back to my community and the country as a whole, as people are falling back in love with football and the country needs something positive right now,” Jones said.

“We want to show the next generation of footballers that they can be confident and pursue their dreams through sport instead of negative activities.”

The programme aims to provide an environment that will support the training and football skills development of the participants.

The hope is that by inspiring and motivating the youngsters, they will see football as a path for developing themselves and succeeding in sport.
