KEVON CORNWALL scored a hat-trick of goals to lead Joe Public on their triumphant march in the FA Trophy series in the Emerald Apartments and Plaza-sponsored Eastern Football Association.

Cornwall netted in the 27th minute to give the Eastern Lions a 1-0 half- time lead over Creek SCC, and he struck again in the 61st and 79th to round off the scoring for his team to remain unbeaten after seven matches.

Carib FC kept in step with the Lions with a 4-1 victory over Upper Santa Cruz.

Veteran Jellineau Gill scored twice, in the 61st and 65th minutes to lead the scoring, while Damian Pierre in the 85th and Kevon Thomas 88th got the other goals for the Brewery Boys. Cole Curvin scored a 70th minute consolation goal.

Valtrin United shut out Barataria Ball Players 2-0 on goals by Kenan Osborne in the 15th and Akhil Paynter in the 21st.

And St John’s United edged Young Lions 1-0 on a 35th minute goal by Paolo Barker.

Maloney Academy play Real Maracas at Maloney ground; Coast Guard meet Sanctuaries at Eddie Hart ground; Malabar Superstars take on Boss FC at Aranguez Savannah and Tunapuna Titans face Joe Pubolic at Constantine Park in second round matches tomorrow.
