Strikes by Andy Alvarez and Anthony Dhanoolal paced Maracas United to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Moosai’s Sports on Monday evening when the Arima Football League staged matches in the Over-40 division at Arima Velodrome.
The victory assured the team from the valley a semi-final spot in the Big Four series next Wednesday as they finished the preliminaries with nine points to lead Group Two.
In the curtain match of the evening, Calvin Phillip notched a lone item which earned Sweaters full points against 500 Touring Team, but neither team has even a remote chance of advancing to the semi-final round.
