Westside Superstarz FC kept their slender two-point lead atop the Blink/bmobile National Super League points table on Sunday with a 2-1 comeback win over Defence Force at St Anthony's College.

A former St Anthony's "Tiger," Troy Thompson, as he did in the previous round when Superstarz beat Club Sando 1-0, booted the leaders to victory. This time he scored two second half goals, including the 89th minute winner, after the Army/Coast Guard combined team had taken the lead.

Jamal Lucas put Defence Force 1-0 up in the 59th minute, but Thompson answered just nine minutes later, and then struck the deadly blow in the dying stages of the match to keep his team ahead in the standings on 14 points.

Joe Public too won to stay second on 17 points after edging hosts 1976 FC Phoenix 1-0 at Canaan, Bon Accord, Ellis Dyette providing the only goal of the match in the 33rd minute.

Former Super League champs made use of home advantage, edging Club Sando 1-0 at St Joseph, while on the other side of St Joseph, Real Maracas could not make their home fixture count as they lost 2-1 to Stokely Vale at Maracas Recreation Ground.
