The league’s leading goal-scorer Teba McKnight, yesterday extended his tally to ten goals for the season, when he bagged yet another double to see Club Sando clear at the top of the blink/bmobile National Super League with a straightforward 3-0 win over Tobago’s Bethel United.

At Montgomery Recreation Ground, Tobago, Club Sando continued its unbeaten run with eight wins and one draw in nine matches, courtesy of McKnight’s double, both goals of which were scored in the first half, while Devon Modeste got the other goal in the 85th minute.

Club Sando has been nearly flawless as of late, dropping points only to Malabar FC in a 3-3 thriller on the second match day, before storming to the top of the standings. Sando, which has proved the most potent attacking team this season has scored a remarkable 13 goals in three matches, following 6-0 and 4-0 victories over Defence Force and FC Santa Rosa, respectively.

McKnight scored a brace in both of those wins, along with a lone item, in a famous 2-1 win over Westside Superstarz in the preceding fixture. The leader now sits three points ahead of Guaya United, which was on a bye for the weekend and remains with a match in hand.

In other results, 2011 treble winner Joe Public played to a goalless draw with 1976 FC Phoenix, while defending champion WASA FC’s woes continued when the team was whipped 2-0 by second-from-bottom Defence Force. It was Defence Force’s first win of the season, which came a week after WASA got its first win, albeit by default. WASA now sits ninth with one win in nine matches.
