ROEN NELSON helped himself to a beaver-trick as the "Eastern Lions" Joe Public inflicted an 8-0 battering on Angostura 1976 FC Phoenix at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima in a rescheduled Sportsworld Super League contest yesterday.

Joe Public remain two points ahead of Crab Connection (both teams have two matches remaining), with the "Crabs" earning a come-from-behind 3-2 win over M&M Harvard at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo.

Joe Public, the 2004 winners, got strikes from Nelson — in the 25th, 79th, 86th and 88th while Carlington Smith registered a hat-trick — in the 44th, 59th and 74th and Sean Cooper added one in the 35th.

The clash at the Mucurapo venue was not as lop-sided as the fixture at Arima.

Micah Andrews opened the scoring for the "Crabs" in the 30th before Christon Freitas turned the tide in Harvard’s favour with a pair of goals in the 52nd and 58th.

But the match will have a final piece of drama as Marlon Warner netted a pair, in the 74th and 87th, to ensure that Crab Connection stayed in the hunt for the 2005 crown.
