Police was second time lucky when it defeated Carib 3-0 in a knockout replay of the National Super Football League on Saturday, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.


The lawmen, locked 5-5 on penalties with the “Beer Boys” when bad light stopped play in their match last week Sunday, got 2-0 lead inside the first 25 minutes through Jason Boodram (19th) and Richard de Coteau (25th).

Kurt Danclair rounded off the scoring in the 80th minute to put Police into the second round against Club Sando tomorrow, the first match of a double-header at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, from 5 pm.

In tomorrow’s second match, from 7 pm, Superstar Rangers play Angostura 1976 FC Phoenix of Tobago. League champions Joe Public and runners-up L-Sporto Crab Connection advanced to the semi-finals, with comfortable wins on Friday at the same venue.
