Tall-scoring Rotiv Couva Players won by another handsome margin on Sunday in the “Champion of Champions” tournament for promotion to the National Super Football League.

The Anston Adams-coached squad carried its tally of goals to 24 in four matches with a comfortable 5-1 win over Mayaro Spurs on the Mayaro Resource Centre ground.

Couva Players, the Central Football Association champion, led 3-0 at half-time with goals by Jason Marcano, Keith Williams and Kevin Adams.

After the interval, the Couva Boys got further goals from Williams and Quami Knights.

Louis Johnson netted the lone goal for Spurs from the penalty spot.

The goal against Couva Players was only the second on goalkeeper Neil Charles in the tournament—the first also being a penalty against St Francois Nationals.

In its other three matches, Couva Players beat Falcon Crest 5-1, St Clair’s Coaching School 9-0 and St Francois

Nationals 5-1.

Both other scheduled matches were postponed—St Francois against St Clair’s and Petrotrin against Falcon Crest.
