Darin Lewis scored a hat-trick to help WASA FC to a come-from-behind 5-1 win over debutants Stokely Vale of Tobago in Match Day 2 action of the 2010 bmobile National Super League at the WASA ground, St Joseph yesterday.

This is WASA’s second win in as many matches, which now puts it at the top of the standings with six points. Tyrone Manning gave the team from the sister isle its only item of the match with a 17th-minute strike, to take a 1-0 lead which it held until just before the half-hour mark.

Joel Daniel then equalised for the utility team in the 29th, before Lewis scored the first of his three goals in the 42nd to give his team a 2-1 advantage at the half. He netted his second nine minutes after the break to put WASA up 3-1, before finding the net for the third time in the 63rd to make it 4-1.

Michael Lee Celestine then put the icing on the cake with a strike in the 78th minute, to seal the match. Over at the NUGFW ground, Valsayn, Tyrone Charles and Dorion Robinson helped defending champion bmobile Joe Public defeat another debutant, Valtrin 2-0.

Charles found the net 20 minutes into the second half, after a goalless first period. The visiting team then got its second goal thanks to Robinson, five minutes from full time.

This is the “Eastern Lions” first win, after being held to a 0-0 draw by St Francois Nationals at the Marvin Lee Stadium last Sunday. St Francois also got its first win easing past 1976 FC Phoenix 2-1 at the Dibe Recreation ground.

Gabriel St John gave his team a 1-0 lead 15 minutes into the match, an advantage it held until the second half. Phoenix equalised through Dominique Kerr in the 61st minute. However, when it seemed that the match was heading for a draw, the Nationals got the winner a minute from regulation time. Maurice Rubain was the hero as he found the net in the 89th minute.
