WASA fell to a crushing 4-1 loss to Club Sando on Wednesday, at Skinner Park in San Fernando, to end their unbeaten run, as well as their hold of the top spot, in the bmobile National Super League.
Striker Bevon Lewis, who played a solitary international in 2003, netted the winner for TTEC in the 75th, to consign the hosts to their fifth defeat in six games, at the NUGFW Ground in Valsayn.
At Skinner Park, Andy London put Sando in front in the 29th minute but Michael-Lee Celestine, another player with a handful of international appearances in the mid-2000s, equalised ten minutes later.
Sando went back in the lead through Jason Gross in the 53rd while London got his second, in the 75th, and Jesse Downing in the 90th to secure full points for Sando and dent the title hopes of WASA.
The three other matches on Wednesday’s agenda ended in drawn results.
Third-placed 1976 FC Phoenix were held 1-1 by Queen’s Park at Canaan, Bon Accord, with Lejandro Williams giving Phoenix a 37th minute lead before ex-national striker Nigel Pierre evened the scores in the 78th.
Harvard, rooted in the bottom spot, also earned a 1-1 tie with St Francois Nationals at the Dibe Recreation Ground in St James, with strikes from Christon Freitas for Harvard, in the 10th, and the equaliser from Marlon Bowen in the 32nd.
Reigning champs Joe Public battled to a 2-2 draw with fellow mid-table outfit Defence Force at the Youth Camp in Chaguaramas.
Joe Public forged ahead with strikes from Donovan Derrick and Ricardo Bennett, in the 15th and 17th minutes respectively, but Steve Benny led a Defence Force rally with a pair, in the 61st and 70th. Action continues on Sunday with Match Day Eight fixtures.
