T&TEC benefitted from WASA FC's last-minute 2-1 defeat to defending champions Joe Public to go to the top of the bmobile National Super League on Saturday.

Runners-up to Joe Public in their first season last year, T&TEC have two matches in hand over nearest rivals WASA.

T&TEC joined previous leaders WASA on 19 points, but lead on goal average after a 50th minute Bevon Bass item gave them a 1-0 victory over M&M Harvard.

WASA took a 14th minute lead over Joe Public on their home ground on Saturday through Jahhan Hernandez and might have settled for a point after Akyl Griffith equalised for the Eastern Lions in the 60th.

But Joe Public caused a shock when Jesse Alexis scored in injury time to give them a 2-1 victory.

The three points moved Joe Public to third on 15 points from eight matches, just ahead of Tobago's Phoenix FC on goal difference.
