T&TEC ended the first round match of the bmobile National Super League, with a comfortable 4-2 win over 1976 Phoenix in a re-scheduled match at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, on Thursday.

The 2009 runners-up, which is the only unbeaten team in the league, now has a four point lead in the standings.The “Electricity Boys” took the lead in the sixth minute compliments of the inform Kevon Neaves strike.

Jamal Ayres then made it 2-0 in the 21st, before Brent Garcia got into the action, to make it 3-0. Dominique Kerr, who scored both goals from Phoenix, reduced the lead to 3-1, with a 45th minute goal.

The Tobagonians were given some hope when Kerr netted his second in the 68th minute. However, they were unable to find the equaliser, before Kern Peters sealed the issue for the utility company in the final minute of regulation play.

Meanwhile the Knock-Out competition will kick off on Sunday with three matches. Defence Force will do battle with Club Sando, at the Youth Camp, Chaguaramas, Stokely Vale will take on Valtrin, at Shaw Park, while QPCC and M & M Harvard will clash at a venue to be announced.
