Dwight Cricthlow was solely responsible for helping Valtrin create a 2-0 upset win over WASA in the quarterfinals of the bmobile National Super League at WASA ground, St Joseph, yesterday. After a goalless first half, Critchlow broke the deadlock when he found the net in the 57th minute and the league’s debutants had a 1-0 lead. The “Water Boys” tried for all their worth, however, they could not come up with an equaliser. The final nail was placed in the coffin three minutes from time, as Critchlow completed his double which gave his team a spot in the semifinal. Valtrin will now take on league leaders T&TEC on Sunday.

T&TEC defeated Defence Force 4-2 in their quarterfinal match-up at the Palo Seco Velodrome in the other quarterfinal contest. The Defence Force was the first to get on the score sheet, with a 12 minute strike from Kevin Pierre, the first of a double. However, the informed Kevon Neaves drew the utility company level with a goal in the 22nd minute. But Pierre restored the lead for his side with his second goal in the 36th minute, an advantage it held for just a minute. Then, Bevon Lewis got into the action with a double of his own where he scored in the 65th and 70th minutes and Brent Garcia put the icing on the cake ten minutes from full time.
