MORUGA FC whipped Cap Off Youths 2-0 on Saturday to stay top of Group “B” in the NLCB- sponsored National Youth Football League Under-14 Division.

Nicholas Blake broke the deadlock after 15 minutes while an own goal, four minutes later, sealed the deal for Moruga. Siparia Spurs cruised past Club Sando 4-2 in the other Group “B” battle.

Ken Bhola put Siparia ahead in the 24th minute before Malik De La Rosa levelled the scores four minutes later.

But Siparia stormed back as Darin Peters restored their lead in the 48th while Mickel Andrews notched a double, in the 55th and 58th.

Quinn Farley pulled one back in the 70th but it was a little too late for Sando.

Joe Public remained atop the standings in Group “A” following a 3-0 victory over Tunapuna Titans.

Nickolai Orr (seventh), Jesse Joseph (19th) and Zion Phillips (23rd) found the back of the net for Joe Public.

And Westside Superstarzs FC pipped FC Santa Rosa 3-2 courtesy of a double from Shem Clauzel (36th and 53rd) and one from Raheam Borde (45th), with Raynard Thorne notching a pair for Santa Rosa (10th and 41st).

In related news, FC Santa Rosa has lodged a protest regarding their 3-2 loss to Westside.

According to a media release from the organisers All Sports Promotions, the matter will “be investigated with the possibility of a replay on Saturday June 30.”
