Justin Araujo Wilson banged in second hat-trick of the 2017 Flow Youth Pro League (YPL) last Sunday to put Defence Force at the top of the Under-15 standings with a 3-0 win over Central FC ahead of the Easter break.

Wilson, last season’s runaway YPL top-scorer, scored his 9th, 10th and 11th goals of this season in the 2nd, 29th and 54th minutes against the visiting Central at Trinity East to lead the overall scorers’ list for 2017.

The Defence Force U15s, however, are tied on 15 points with second-place Jabloteh after the San Juan club edged previous leaders Point Fortin Civic 1-0 at San Juan North Secondary courtesy a second-minute Micai Peters strike.

Jabloteh were big winners in the Under-13 division with a 10-0 romp over Civic, and completed the trifecta against the southerners with a 2-0 win in the Under-17 division.

Nathaniel James and Kanye Baker each bagged a hat-trick while Jaheim Faustin ended with a double and Nkosi Ambrose and Israel Joseph with a goal each for the Jabloteh U13s.

The impressive scoreline moved Jabloteh up two spots into second behind leaders Police and ahead of third-place W Connection by goal-difference.

Jodel Brown and Kyle Thomas both scored for Jabloteh U17s as the hosts maintained their grip of top spot in the division three points ahead of second-place W Connection who edged Morvant Caledonia United 1-0.

Connection, like Jabloteh, ended the day on a clean sweep after defeating Morvant Caledonia 4-0 and 2-1 in the U13 and U15 divisions, respectively.

Defence Force, however, didn’t enjoy such success after they were defeated 3-2 by Central in the U13 division. Central also ended with triumph in the U17 division edging Defence Force 2-1 for their first win of the season.

YPL action resumes on Sunday April 23 following the Easter break.
