Tunapuna Boy’s Rc School earned the right to defend their title yesterday when they came from behind to defeat Sangre Grande Government 3-2 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium yesterday in the semi-finals of the Atlantic Primary School Football League.

The inaugural winners of the Boys 11 years and under category went behind in the second minute of the game when Jeremiah Williams’ free kick from 15 yards out found the back of the net.

The Tunapuna RC outfit were shell-shocked but gradually found their rhythm and equalised through Oba Merritt in the seventh minute.

It was not long before the champions went further ahead when Tirrel Ramsahi’s left-footed strike beat the Sangre Grande custodian.

When referee Inskip Carrington blew the whistle signalling the end of the first half, the champions led 2-1. In the second session, another Merritt strike sealed the game to send Tunapuna into the final.
