DUNDEE keeper Kelvin Jack wants Trinidad and Tobago to emulate the feats of Cameroon and Senegal by becoming the shock troops of the World Cup finals.

Cameroon exploded on to the international football map at Italia 90 when the Indomitable Lions, inspired by veteran striker Roger Milla, stunned the World Cup holders Argentina in the opening match before eventually losing to England in the quarter-finals.

Twelve years later Senegal beat champions France in the opening match of the2002World Cup in Japan and South Korea before going down to Turkey in the last eight.

Jack will line up alongside Rangers defender Marvin Andrews and Falkirk midfielder Russell Latapy in Germany next summer after making history by becoming the first Trinidad and Tobaga side to qualify for the World Cup finals.

Jack said: "We want to go to the World Cup finals and compete and raise a few eyebrows.

"We want to make people sit up and take notice of just how good a footballing side we are.

"Cameroon made the last eight in 1990 after beating the holders Argentina and Senegal did the same in 2002 when they beat France.

"We want to show the world what we can do on the big stage and it would be great to get as far as both Cameroon and Senegal.

"The World Cup is always full of surprises and my first experience of watching the tournament was a six year-old in 1982"I remember Algeria beat West Germany in the finals in Spain and Northern Ireland also defeated the hosts that year.

"A surprise package emerges at every World Cup finals, so why not Trinidad and Tobago next summer?

"International football is full of shock results. Nobody would have believed until recently that Northern Ireland could beat England, but they managed it.

"Our manager Leo Beenhakker will ensure we are well prepared and well organised and we want to show the rest of the world that we can hold our own against quality opposition."

The draw for the greatest football tournament on earth takes place today and FIFA expect 350million viewers will tune in to the ceremony at the4000-capacity glass hall at the Leipzig Messe in eastern Germany.

Jack revealed that being drawn in the same group as England would be an intriguing prospect for Trinidad and Tobago although the keeper would much prefer to avoid meeting reigning World Cup champions Brazil until the latter stages.

He said: "All the nations who will be in Germany are there on merit, Regardless of who we draw we'll be up against a footballing powerhouse - that is cast in stone.

"Brazil are the red-hot favourites again. They are on a different football planet fromthe rest of the world.

"I think Brazil will win it so we'll take them in the final.

"The rest of the sides are pretty much even so will take whoever we get drawn out of the hat against.

"England would be a pretty interesting draw for the guys as a lot of the Trinidad and Tobago national players play their club football in the English leagues.

"A draw against England would generate huge interest back home as football is massive in Trinidad and Tobago.

"I'm just so excited about playing in the World Cup finals. It will be the pinnacle of my career"This is the greatest football tournament in the world and the country is buzzing.

We're all just looking forward to the experience.

"To be part of the first group of Trinidad and Tobago players to make it through to the World Cup finals is a special feeling.

"We are immensely proud of the fact that we have made history by becoming the first team from our country to qualify for the World Cup finals.

"It really is a mind-blowing sporting achievement for an island nation like ourselves.

"Now we just want to go there and give a decent account of ourselves.
