Coach Latapy from the benchNewly reappointed National Men’s Senior Team Head Coach Russell Latapy has set a date of March 10, 2010 to resume preparations which will see the Team training twice weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

This was disclosed by Latapy this week  following the announcement of his reappointment by the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation.

According to Team manager David Muhammad, the Technical Staff would like to host a minimum of two training sessions weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays and continuing throughout the year in addition to other training sessions in preparation for upcoming Friendly International and competitive matches.

“It is the staff’s intentions  to have these two mandatory weekly team practices incorporated into the Pro League Calendar in advance.  All sessions are carded for the Hasely Crawford Stadium in the first instance,” Muhammad told TTFF Media.

Muhammad said the T&T Pro League has been advised of this.

“This is all with the hope that there will be cooperation along the way to ensure that Latapy, his staff and by extension the TTFF can efficiently and effectively pursue their objectives of establishing a strong competitive National Senior Team,” Muhammad added.

Latapy has made it clear that his initial sessions will include screening of twenty-nine (29) invited players and as such none of these players will be listed as National selectees. In due course, Latapy will then reveal a shortlist of his selected players for future training and preparation for international matches and competitions.
