St Francois Girls’ College will hope to maintain its good form in order to secure the BGTT Secondary Schools Girls’ Football League North Zone title, when it meets St Joseph’s Convent this afternoon at QRC Grounds from 3.46 pm.

The Belmont girls caused a major upset on Thursday, when they beat North Zone champion, Providence Girls’ 2–0, to hand the national InterCol runners-up its first defeat in two years.

They have two tough matches left on the fixture, which includes their final match on Thursday against Blanchissuese High. If they are successful against St Joseph’s today and Blanchissuese on Thursday, they will secure their first SSFL North Zone title in only their first year in the league.

Team coach, Jason Spence, has already shared that his team is well prepared, and believes they can take the North Zone title, as well as produce an entertaining performance, if not a victory at the InterCol final, if his team manages to get that far.

South Zone, InterCol and Big Five champion, Debe High, has maintained its dominance in that Zone, being the only unbeaten team so far this season. Debe will meet Pleasantville Secondary today at Guaracara Park, Point-a-Pierre from 4 pm.

In Tobago and the East Zones, upsets to Zonal champions, Roxborough Secondary and Toco Secondary, respectively, have left the Zones wide open for new champions, unless the two sides can secure victories in their final two matches in the League.
