A 77th-minute goal by Avalon Hypolite was enough to get Mayaro all three points in their British Gas Secondary Schools Football League South Zone match against Vessigny at Mahaica Oval, Point Fortin, yesterday.
Hypolite latched on to a cross from Rocklan Jones on the right side to head past a helpless goalkeeper Kona Modeste in the Vessigny goal.

The 1-0 victory took Mayaro to a share of the zonal leadership with 16 points—the same number as that of champion team Naparima, who played to a 1-1 draw with fifth-placed St Benedict’s at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella.
