Fatima College Under-16 football team made a giant step toward following in the footsteps of their seniors on Saturday by sealing a place into the Trinidad Leg of the tournament final.

Playing in the National under-16 semifinals at home, the Mucurapo Road lads hammered their counterparts from Arima North Secondary 5-0 for the right face St Benedict’s College in the Trinidad final on November 25 at Fatima Ground.

On Saturday, the Fatima boys were unstoppable with goals coming from Jonathan Mason, Cadon Trestrail, Tom Decle, Jedaiah King, and Jahaem Bailey.

The win ensured that Fatima continued their unbeaten run for the season, while Arima North had now lost for the first time all season.

Also on Saturday, Southerners St Benedict’s College booked a place in the Trinidad final by demolishing Chaguanas North Secondary 7-2 at the Edinburgh 500 Recreation Ground in Chaguanas.

The winner of the Trinidad zone will take on the winner of Tobago at a date to be determined.

In Tobago, both Speyside High and Signal Hill are level on 12 points each after four matches.

Both teams will square off on November 24 to decide the winner of the Tobago zone that will face the winner from the Trinidad leg of the competition.
