TODAY is the final day of the BG T&T Secondary Schools Football League, and it doubles as D-Day for prospective League winners, in the North and Tobago Zones respectively.

Fatima College have an outside chance of upstaging North leaders Mucurapo Secondary Comprehensive, with a home victory over QRC from 4 p.m. Fatima are the only team that can keep Mucurapo out of the "Big Five" semi-finals next Thursday. "Compre", however, have an outstanding game away to Trinity College on Monday at Moka, and victory in that match will hand them the North title, regardless of the outcome of Fatima's encounter.

Tobago Zone also has a very interesting situation: Defending champs Mason Hall Government Secondary threw themselves a lifeline by upsetting previously unbeaten Signal Hill Senior Comprehensive. Now Mason Hall have to beat relegation-bound Speyside High at the Dwight Yorke Stadium Training Ground, after watching Signal Hill's meeting with Scarborough Secondary from 3 p.m. at the same ground.

Where this gets even more interesting, is the fact that Signal Hill must beat Scarborough in back-to-back encounters today and tomorrow, to accrue enough points to book their spot in Tuesday's "Big Five" quarter-final against San Juan Secondary Comprehensive, at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar. Signal Hill were supposed to meet Scarborough last Monday in a re-scheduled fixture which did not come off. It must now be played tomorrow because it is crucial in deciding the Tobago winner.

Also in the North, the relegation battle has come down to the end, with both Malick Secondary Comprehensive and Trinity College fighting to stay alive. Malick take on St Anthony's College at Westmoorings, while Trinity travel to Serpentine Road for a tough challenge by St Mary's College.

Repeating East kings San Juan Secondary Comprehensive meet perennial rivals the "Green Machine", of St Augustine, in a top-of-the-table clash, while third placed El Dorado take on Hillview College at the Marvin Lee Stadium.

Carapichaima Secondary Comprehensive will wind down their successful League campaign, with a home match against Presentation College (Chaguanas). In the South Zone, Naparima College close against Siparia Secondary at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium at 3 p.m., two hours before Pleasantville Senior Comprehensive and St Benedict's College do battle at the same venue.

Trinity College will play their final outstanding fixture against St Anthony's College on Thursday. All matches kick off at 4 p.m., except the Manny Ramjohn Stadium and Dwight Yorke Stadium Training Ground double headers.
