North Zone Round Up

Compre remain in top: St Anthony's 1 - 1 Mucurapo

The top two teams, St Anthony's and Mucurapo, clashed at St Anthony's Grounds and had to split the points as the match ended 1-1.

Moriba Ballah scored for St Anthony's with Jamal Williams finding the back of the net yet again for Mucurapo.

Compre had a glorious chance to snatch all 3 points in the dying stages of the game through Johan Peltier but the attacker failed to find the back of the net with the opportunity.

Things remain unchanged among the top two teams in the group with Mucurapo and St Anthony's remaining 1 and 2 in the North respectively. Mucurapo have 17 points and St Anthony's trail by just 1 point.

QRC, CIC end in stalemate: QRC 1 - 1 St Mary's.

Rivals, CIC and QRC had to content themselves with a 1-1 draw at QRC Grounds. QRC went ahead midway in the 2nd half through Akil Morris, but CIC fought back to get a draw after Chad Appoo whipped in a dangerous cross in the 90' minute which found teammate, Dillon Kirton, who buried his header into the back of the QRC goal.

The result leaves QRC in 3rd spot, with 16 points, tied with St Anthony's and Fatima, but trailing the Tigers on goal difference. St Mary's go down a spot to 5th with 15 points.

Fatima back in contention: Fatima 2 - 1 Woodbrook

Anslem Jackson scored twice today to give Fatima 3 much needed points as they ran out 2-1 winners over Woodbrook. Anthonio Sanchez scored for the visitors.

Fatima move into 4th spot in the North, level on 16 points with St Anthony's and QRC, but trailing both teams due to goal difference. Woodbrook are now tied with Trinity at the bottom of the table with 1 point and identical goal differences.

Things are definitely tight on both ends of the table in the North Zone and things heat up again when St Anthony's travel to St Mary's on Wednesday 7th October in a fixture which will see both sides fighting to win as dropped points could cost them the title. Fatima travel to Trinity also on the 7th, while Woodbrook host QRC, must win fixtures for all teams.

South Zone Round Up

Pres extend lead to 5: Siparia 0 - 2 Presentation

Presentation extend their lead in the South Zone after a tough 2-0 road victory against Siparia. A goal on either side of half-time from Rodney Young (penalty) and Wesley John gave the league leaders the victory and they now have 20 points in the standings, 5 points ahead of 2nd place St Benedict's.

Siparia remain bottom in the South Zone, but are not out yet as they are well within striking distance of the teams above.

Shiva stun naps with late winner: Shiva 1 - 0 Naparima

Shiva record a brilliant victory and hand Naparima their 2nd straight defeat, when they emerged victorious by 1-0 over the South Zone giant. Joshua Bachan gave his team their most monumental victory this season when he struck in the 89th minute and Shiva continue to silence the critics with their impressive home form. Naparima hang on to 3rd spot on 14 ponts and Shiva remain in 4th with 11 points and pull closer to Naparima.

Princes Town and Vessingy in thrilling draw: Princes Town 2 - 2 Vessigny

Princes Town and Vessigny, both trying to get clear of the relegation zone, put on a show for their fans with a 2-2 draw at Princes Town. Kerron Ayers again found the back of the net for the home team and he was joined by Nikosi McCray. Terece Marshall and Adisa Sorrillo found the back of the net for the visitors. Princes Town hang on to 5th spot with 9 points, 1 point head of 6th placed, Vessigny.

Naparima sit out next round and give Presentation and St Benedict's a chance to pull further away from the defending champions. Presentation have a tricky road trip to Princes Town on Wednesday 7th October, while St Benedict's host giant-destroyers, Shiva at Mannie Ramjohn and will have to be very wary of the new boys.

Vessigny and Siparia also meet at Vessigny Grounds with both teams desperate for all 3 points as they seek to avoid relegation.

East Zone Round Up

Gustine extend lead to 6 points: St Augustine 3 - 0 Trinity

St Augustine were simply too much for Trinity College East and defeated them comfortably by 3-0 at St Augustine Grounds. Jevaughn Vance increased his tally when he scored twice and he was joined on the scoreboard by Nikkel Collymore. St Augustine now lead the East Zone with 22 points while Trinty hold on to 4th spot with 10 points.

El Dorado move back into 2nd spot: El Dorado 1 - 0 Arima

El Dorado capitalized on San Juan's bye and moved into 2nd spot when they grabbed all 3 points against Arima with a slender 1-0 victory at the Larry Gomes Stadium. Kerron Bethelnemy was the hero for the home team and it was his brilliant strike that separated the two teams.

El Dorado rise to second spot with 16 points, pushing San Juan down into 3rd spot in the process. Arima are now in a 3-way tie for 5th place with Toco Sangre Grande on 7 points.

Relegation battle ends in draw: Sangre Grande 1 - 1 Toco

Far east schools, Sangre Grande and Toco, both in danger of relegation, fought to a 1-1 draw at Sangre Grande. Kyle Thompson netted for the Sangre Grande while Wesley Thomas scored for the visitors. Both teams pull level with Arima in the East Zone on 7 points, but Toco remain bottom of the group, trailing the others on goal difference.

Arima and Grande face off in a critical fixture for both teams as they seek to avoid relegation on Wednesday 7th October. San Juan also jump back into action when they host Toco while El Dorado will be hoping to pull a few points closer to St Augustine when they travel to Trinity.

Central Zone Round Up

Caps pick up all 3 points: Carapichaima 3 - 0 Gasparillo

Carapichaima go 3 points clear at the top of the Central Zone with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Gasparillo. Kerron Gray struck in the 1st half for the defending champions and he was joined by Michael Renaud and Denzil Gill in the 2nd half. Carapichaima now have 13 points, while Presentation trail with 10 points. Gasparillo remain in 4th with 5 points.

Waterloo record first win: Marabella 1 - 3 Waterloo

Waterloo pick up 3 points after defeating Marabella at the Ato Boldon Stadium by 3-1. Waterloo remain in 5th spot with 4 points, but the victory pulls them closer to Gasparillo in the Central Zone.

Marabella remain in 3rd spot with 7 points. Daniel Dyer scored for Marabella, but it wasn't enough as Neon Ogarro, Stephen Burton and Raymond Perreira were on target for the visitors.

Central action resumes with Marabella making the trip to Carapichaima on Wednesday 7th October while Waterloo hope to continue their spell of good form when they travel to Presentation College.

Tobago Zone Round Up

Mason Hall's perfect season continues: Mason Hall 3 - 2 Roxborough

Tobago leaders, Mason Hall, maintained their 100% record when they defeated Roxborough by 3-2 at Bon Accord. They now have 15 points from 5 games and sit comfortably at the top of the table.

Shurlon Phillip, Selvon Williams and Omar Charles scored for the winners with Akil Scott and Dillon Villafana netting for Roxborough. Roxborough remain in 4th spot with 5 points.

Scarborough down Goodwood: Scarborough 3 - 1 Goodwood

Two second half goals from Shaquille Scott and Jardez Perez gave Scarborough 3 important points as they defeated Goodwood by 3-1. The game was tied at 1-1 at the half after first half goals from Shurvon Sandy for Scarborough and Michael Ramsey for Goodwood.

Scarborough needed this victory if they are to stand any chance at all of catching league leaders, Mason Hall in this year's competition and currently sit in 2nd spot with 10 points, 5 points adrift of the leaders. Goodwood have 1 point and remain at the bottom of the Tobago Zone.

Scarborough have a chance to cut into Mason Hall's lead on Wednesday 7th October when they face them at Bon Accord. Roxborough and Signal Hill also square off on the 7th at Plymouth.
