Martinique hammers T&T 3-0

Trinidad and Tobago walked into this French colony Wednesday and got hammered 3-0.

It was the first of two matches against their Caribbean rivals.

Coach Bertile St. Clair is using the two matches to look at new players and as preparation for the Gold Cup in February. Despite the loss Coach St. Clair said that he was not too disappointed.

Trinidad and Tobago were down to 10 men for much of the second half as Ancil Elcock was sent off.

Elcock was ejected after it was reported that Elcock had not infringed on any player. It was suspected that there was some miscommunication on the part of the French speaking referee. T&T also lost under 23 striker Gary Glasgow to a suspected dislocated shoulder.

Martinique opened the the scoring in the 15th minute and made it 2-0 going into the second half. After the Elcock ejection, Martinique got their third goal to complete the rout.

It was Martinique's second win of the year versus T&T. They beat T&T 2-1 in the opening game of the Shell/Umbro cup.
