Defender Rhea Belgrave, right, receives the Player of the Final trophy from Director of National Women’s Football and sponsor of the tournament, Even Pellerud, at the closing ceremony of the Women’s League Football (Wolf) Big-Four. One of the most celebrated women’s clubs in the country, Real Dimension WFC, added its third and final piece of silverware of the season after defeating arch-rivals Trincity Nationals 2-0 in the Women’s League Football (WoLF) Big-Four competition final on Sunday.

Goals in either side of the half from striker Alania Burgin, saw Dimension ease to another title in an already successful campaign after the team won the Premier Division League and FA Trophy, recently. The feat also meant that Dimension are without a loss since its opening day defeat to the Tobago Women’s Football Club back in May.

The season-ending affair was staged at a muddy Guaracara Park, Point-a-Pierre, with both teams failing to provide their best display of talent for the occasion. However, both sets of players attempted to turn up the technical approach to keep the support lively.

The losing finalist Trincity Nationals was without its strongest 11 as it fielded two of the youngest players in the league, Adanya Phillip and Cherissa Delzin in a brave attempt to secure a first title this season.

Nationals’ defence, led by former T&T youth skipper Camille Borneo and Rhea Belgrave, were particularly solid, despite the finishing the match conceding two goals, as they kept the brilliant Warrick sisters, Shanelle and Jonelle at bay.

In the end, it was a stronger all-round showing from Dimension which saw the team become crowned the queens of club football. They were later presented with medals and a Challenge Trophy by tournament sponsor and Director of National Women’s Football Even Pellerud.

Dimension’s outstanding defensive player Belgrave was subsequently nominated “Player of the Match” The final fixture followed an exhibition encounter between third-placed finisher St Augustine SC and South Zone champions Point Fortin Pioneers, which replaced Step by Step FA which was disqualified for not appearing at the semifinal against Trincity.

The Pioneers ran riot, defeating St Augustine 5-1, with the latter team already having secured third spot.
