Malick City initiated a major upset on the first day of the 2013 Japs-sponsored Women’s League Football (TT WoLF) campaign, when the team triumphed 3-1 over last year’s treble trophy winner Real Dimension, at UWI Ground, St Augustine, on Friday.

A double from Akilah Oliver and a lone item from Anastasia Prescott handed Malick the win, while Real Dimension’s only goal came through former national Under-20 attacker Shanelle Henry.

A day later, Step by Step held the national U-17 team to a 2-2 draw, with Denise Tucker and Kamara Charles scoring for the former. Zoe Swift scored a brace for the national team. More national players found the back of the net on Saturday when sisters Shanelle and Jonelle Warrick took one goal each in a 2-0 win over Defence Force.

In the First Division, recently established women’s team outfit from Central FC claimed a 3-0 default win over an unprepared Tunapuna Titans. Two matches, Malabar All Stars’ clash with Tobago All Stars and Central FC’s meeting with Tobago All Stars, carded for yesterday were both postponed.
