Goals galore in WoLF

Goals galore was the order of the day in last weekend's Women's League Football (WoLF), when the action resumed nationwide. The goal-rush came mainly from the south-central division, or the "Izler Browne" as it's officially known.

La Brea Angels and Petrotrin continued their goal-scoring form, while the Central FC women's team came out on top in a seven-goal thriller. The Debisette sisters were in the mood as they scored seven goals between them in a 14-0 Angels romp over Crowne Trace.

Khadidra notched four goals while Khadisha scored a hat trick of her own. Gina Marie Williams also got four to her name, with Kayana Trim netting two and Tineisha Cobham had a solitary goal. Petrotrin also matched that total as Nikiesha Noel scored a quartet, and Dernelle Mascal scored a brace to stand out amongst the scorers. Goals from Latavia Morris, Javanah Moreno and Khaline Jacob were not enough to stop them from succumbing to defeat in a 4-3 roller coaster ride against Central FC.

Up in the north served up some footballing lessons as well. In the "Ricard Nelson" group, Queen's Park CC made a statement of their intent, thrashing Malvern 13-0. Stephanie Woo Ling registered six times on the scoresheet in a punishing encounter served up by the league first-timers. Real Dimension put six past Netshakers while St Ann's Ranger's youth team triumphed 3-1 over Northern Rush.

St. Ann's Rangers' main team continued their impressive run with a 6-1 win over National U-17 team, in the "Delia de Silva" group. Anique Walker, a former national youth player herself, put three past the keeper at the Dibe Recreation Ground in St James. Other hopefuls in the group St Augustine FC edged Tobago Chicas 3-2 at the Eddie Hart Ground, while Defence Force battled to a 1-1 draw with Trincity Nationals.
