VETERAN referee Ramesh Ramdhan will come out of retirement to take charge of tomorrow's Lucky Bakery Women's Football League top-of-the-table showdown between leaders San Juan Jabloteh and the second-placed National Under-17 women's team.

The match takes place from 4 p.m. at Barataria Oval, Sixth Avenue, Barataria.

Both teams are unbeaten and the victor will win the first round of the Lucky Bakery League, but a draw will also give Jabloteh first round honours.

The clash brings together the free-scoring Jabloteh against the strongly-defensive National Under-17 squad.

Leaders Jabloteh have amassed 19 points by winning six and drawing one of seven matches played. Jabloteh have scored 55 goals in seven matches and have beaten the weaker teams by double-figure margins.

The National Under-17s have 17 points, winning five and drawing two of the seven matches played. The Nationals are using the League as preparation for a September 18 Caribbean Zone FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup qualifier against the Dominican Republic.

The National Under-17 women have scored just 12 goals in seven matches played, but have not conceded a single goal this season. Although they have not scored freely, the Nationals have not always used their strongest XI against lesser teams, since they have been rotating their squad.

The first round of the Lucky Bakery Women's League ends on the August 31 Independence Day holiday, when third-placed Real Dimension (15 points) travel to the North Coast for a rescheduled match against bottom-placed North Coast United.

The Women's League knockout competition will begin at the end of the first round of league matches.
