Bethel United got a goal each from Renaldo John and Vernon Wilson to blank defending champions St Clair Coaching 2-0 at Plymouth Recreation Ground to open a three-point lead at the top of Tobago Football Association Premier Division competition.
The victory lifted Bethel to 47 points from 19 matches, three more than Roxborough Lakers in the two-team race for the title while St Clair remained in danger of being one of four teams to be relegated with 18 points from 19 matches and tenth on the 12-team table.
The first match at Plymouth saw Georgia FC coming away with a 3-0 default win over Leeds United to solidify its hold on fourth spot with 35 points from 19 matches, two behind Mason Hall USSS.
