HAKEEM LEGAL took his goal tally to a season’s best nine when netting a brace as he fired Eastern Conference second-placed Goal City to a commanding 4-1 win over Belle Garden SC in the Tobago Football Association (TFA) competition, on Sunday, at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet.
Leaders Georgia prevailed 2-1 over FC Goodwood at the same venue. Georgia FC had a two-goal cushion in the first half, with a double from Nyah Davis (12’ & 34’) and held on despite FC Goodwood pulling a goal back in the second half through Kelby Beckles (52’).
Meanwhile, at Speyside, third-placed Sidey’s picked up a 3-0 default win over Roxborough Lakers.
In the Western Conference, leaders Carnbee/Mt. Pleasant and second-placed Eagles FC both won as well last week Friday. Carnbee/Mt Pleasant blanked Black Rock 4-0 with Sherwin Lovell (56’ & 67) getting a brace.
And Eagles FC came from behind to defeat St clair’s Coaching School 2-1. Trailing to Shawn Baker’s 61st minute item, Eagles drew level just 10 minutes later through Collin Sergeant. And with the match seeming to be headed for a draw, Keslon Charles netted a minute into added-on time to give Eagles the victory.
