CARNBEE/Mt Pleasant scored a shock 2-1 win over neighbours 1976 FC Phoenix in a Western Conference division game of the Tobago Football Association (TFA) league at Mt Pleasant on Thursday.

The surprise defeat left Phoenix three points behind leaders Black Rock United, who have 19 points from seven games.

Carnbee/Mt Pleasant got their goals courtesy of Ryan Inniss and Roger Gooding, while Nero Melville replied for Phoenix, who once campaigned in the Premier Division. They were demoted to the second level a couple years ago. (Actually they were promoted to the Super League and were permitted to enter a second team in the zonal competition)

In the Western Conference on the same day, Moriah Youths took over the number three spot from Youth Stars United on the table, following a keenly-contested 3-2 victory over the same team at Dusty Park Oval in Hope Village.

Kino Proctor had all three goals for Moriah Youths, who were previously in fourth. That position is now occupied by Youth Stars, whose goalscorers were Donnelle Edwards and Raoul Trotman.

Mason Hall PYC salvaged a 3-3 draw with Leeds United at Mt Grace, to share the leadership of the group with Mason Hall United SSS.

Mason Hall SSS and Mason Hall PYC have 14 points from six and seven games respectively, but the former have a better goal difference of 11 to five over the latter.

Koreen London notched a brace and Delhi Sandy tacked on the other effort for Leeds, while on the other side, there was an item each from Mentor Pollard, Christopher Stewart and Nyrel Roberts.

And Northside Combined worked over HV Milan 3-2 to win the duel of the bottom-of-the-table teams at the River Bank Oval in Mt St George.

Kareem Duncan, Kerron Best, Alvin King all put their names on the scoresheet for the winners, who climbed up the ladder from the bottom to next-to-last on the standings.
