STOKELY VALE'S march toward a double in this year's Digicel Tobago Football Association (TFA) competition continued in impressive fashion when they trounced newcomers Mason Hall USSS 4-1 last Thursday, while defending champions Georgia United stopped Roxborough Lakers 3-0 at home at the Rival Bank Oval in Mt St George on the same day.
The success moved the champs up the table into fifth place as they chase down the leaders in an effort to hold on to their title. Georgia, who now have 22 points, got a goal each from Malcolm Jack, Deon Orr and Keron Phillips.

At the Dwight Yorke Stadium in Bacolet in the feature game of a two-match card, Yasha Brown notched a brace and Antonio Balfour and Curtis Job added the other items for the Plymouth boys to take them to 34 points, six ahead of second-place St Clair Coaching School, who have 28 points and a game in hand.

Akell Dennis got the lone item for Mason Hall USSS, who are certain to return to the conference division after they were promoted to the top flight in 2008.

Charlotteville Unifiers, the 2005 champs, maintained their steady improvement in the standings as they rushed into third spot with a commanding 4-0 whipping of Earlbrokes, who continued to go backwards after leading the race for the better part of the first round.

Earlbrokes are now fourth with 23 points of which 18 have come from six consecutive victories at the start of the season.

Bethel United collected three important points to move further away from the drop zone, following a close 4-3 triumph over Hills United.

Dwayne Marcelle hit the mark on two occasions along with Azimondee Leith and Renaldo John. Eustace Stewart had a double and Omale Jackson a single item for Hills United.

In the conference division for promotion to the Premier Division, 1976 FC Phoenix (15 points) and Signal Hill United (12) have secured their places for the last round of playoffs.

Phoenix, bidding to return to the Premier Division since their demotion a few years ago, finished at the top of the B Conference, despite a 1-0 defeat to Signal Hill United.

In other results from the Conference, Carnbee/Mt Pleasant were held 1-1 by Mason Hall PYC. They have eight points and are third with a game in hand. Darrel Baynes netted for Carnbee/Mt Pleasant and Jeffery Sam for Mason Hall PYC.

Golden Lane, relegated last season, stayed on course to return to the Premier Division by finishing at the top of the A Conference with 13 points.

Black Rock are second with 11 and have a game in hand, while NLCB Mt Grace United occupy third with 11 points. Moriah Youths can overtake them for third position if they win their last fixture.
