DEFENDING champions Georgia United are attempting to make a late dash to retain their 2008 Digicel Tobago Football Association (TFA) title.

On Tuesday, the champs continued their recent run of good form with a 3-0 win over Federal Northside FC.

Malcolm Jack, Robbie Thomas and Deon Orr netted for Georgia, who moved rapidly from eighth position to third in the standings. They now have 28 points and trail leaders Stokely Vale (34) by six points.

Former winners St Clair Coaching School are in second spot with 31 points. Both Stokely Vale and Coaching School have played 15 games, while the reigning champs have played 16.

On Monday, Coaching School kept the pressure on the leaders with a 1-0 win over Sidey's FC at the Dwight Yorke Stadium in Bacolet.

Denzil James provided the lone item for Coaching School.

In the Conferences categories, Block Rock United topped the A Conference with 14 points, Golden Lane came in second with 13 and NLCB Mt Grace finished in third berth with ten points.

Unbeaten Signal Hill United emerged atop of the B Conference with a maximum 18 points from six games. 1976 FC Phoenix ended in second on 15 points, while Carnbee/Mt Pleasant occupied third -place with eight points.

In the final round of matches in the B Conference, Signal Hill maintained their unblemished record with a 4-1 win over Goodwood via doubles each from Steffon Hector and Dennis Brace.

Calder Hall beat Moriah Youths 2-0 , with an item each from Kareeme Tobias and Alloy Thomas.

Meanwhile, the top four teams in the A Confrence will advance to the promotion round automatically, while the bottom three teams in the A conference will play the top three in the B Conference to get the next three clubs to complete in the Big Seven playoffs for pomotion to the top flight next season.
