1976 Phoenix opened up a one point lead at the top of the table in the First Division of the Tobago Football Association, despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Goodwood United on Thursday.
Brent Cruickshank scored for Phoenix to cancel out Jovani John’s item for Goodwood. The point earned improved Phoenix to 17 from eight matches, one ahead of Lambeau FC which has a match in hand.
In the two other matches played, mid-table Mt Grace United whipped Bethel United 4-1 and Signal Hill United rolled over Golden Lane FC, 3-1.
Meanwhile, matches in the TFA will be postponed from Monday for a period of two weeks due to the hosting of the second Fifa Under-17 Women’s World Cup from September 5 to 24 and the upgrading of the various playing venues which have been affected by the inclement weather.
