CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh made it two wins in three matches against Pro League leaders Vibe CT 105 W Connection with a 1-0 win over their arch rivals last evening at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar, Arima.

A 71st minute strike by Josh Johnson was the difference between the teams, handing Connection their second loss for the season, following their defeat in the Pro Bowl final at the hands of none other than Jabloteh.

The San Juan-based team had the better of the first half, with Aurtis Whitley, Kerry Noray and Johnson making some probing runs into the Connection half, they but could not find the net. Connection's best answer came from Brazilian Ronaldo Viana, who put the ball in the goal in the 32nd minute only to be adjudged offside. The scores read 1-0 at the half.

In the second half, Johnson found the net as Connection the defence failed to deal with a cross which he directed past custodian Jan Michael Williams following a free kick for a foul on Whitley.

With five minutes added on time being played, Connection got a glimmer of hope, but two timely clearances by the Jabloteh defence off their goal-line prevented the equaliser. The Jabloteh win narrowed Connection's lead to seven points, as they took up second place ahead of Defence Force on goal difference.

The Army/Coast Guard combination scored a 3-2 victory over United Petrotrin at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium.

They got goals by Anton Joseph, Ronald Boyce and Kevon Carter to move to third with 14 points, same as Jabloteh.
