DEFENDING champions CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh have their destiny in their own hands today when they take on slumping leaders North East Stars in the second game of a T&T Pro League "Top 6" double-header at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, Arima.

When the teams last met in August, a Nigel Daniel free-kick rescued a point for Jabloteh in a 1-1 draw. That began a recent patchy run for Stars. in which they also dropped points at their Sangre Grande stronghold to Vibe CT105 W. Connection (2-2) and Morvant-Arima Fire (0-0).

Today's penultimate round of competition may turn out to be the most important day in the 2004 T&T Pro League.

Three teams-Stars, Jabloteh and W. Connection-are the only ones in contention and can all still lift the title depending on tonight's results.

Should Jabloteh win and W. Connection also beat Defence Force at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, then all of the three top teams could be level on 48 points, with just the final round of matches to go on Sunday.

However, a victory for North East Stars would eliminate Jabloteh's bid to retain their crown.
