CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh goalkeeper Daurance Williams suffered an irregular heart beat last week during pre-season and was almost ruled out of action this season.

The talented goalkeeper admitted he was really scared, he told ‘ttproleague.com’, “It had me really worried. I didn’t think that I would ever be suffering from anything like this now. The irregular heart beat occurred out of the blue last week during training,” said a distressed Williams.

But now the 2006 Courts Pro Bowl and Lucozade Sport Big Six winning goalkeeper is restored to his normal workaholic self and ready for the new season after having an Electro Cardio Graph (E.C.G.) on Thursday.

“I’ve had two tests done yesterday at the St. Clair Medical Hospital. A Stress Test and an E.C.G. Test and the doctors said it was just a matter of being overworked and I needed to just rest a bit,” explained the powerfully built player.

“I am feeling ok now and I am not as worried as I was before having the tests done. I was back in training today and I am preparing for the new season,” he said.

Williams also added that there is the strong chance of him missing his team’s opening match against Neal and massy Caledonia AIA, “I am back in training but I don’t think I would be up for selection against Caledonia on Saturday. I didn’t train much for part of last week and most of this week and I would have needed to be training for selection,” said Williams who ended, “I am ok and ready for the new season.

While Coach Terry Fenwick of the San Juan based team was in a happy mood to have his reliable custodian for this season.

Fenwick told ‘ttproleague.com’, “Duarance is fine and he is going to be with us this season. He had an irregular heart beat and we checked him out. The doctors cleared him to continue and he is ready for Jabloteh selection this season,” said the former England international.

CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh kicks off their 2007 season against rivals Neal and Massy Caledonia AIA in the first match of a double header at the Larry Gomes Stadium from 4pm. In the second match defending League Champions B Mobile Joe Public takes on the 2006 Toyota Classic Champions United Petrotrin from 6pm.
