Three titles in 2008, inclusive of the back to back League Championships, CLICO San Juan Jabloteh have all bragging rights and Technical Director Terry Fenwick believes that his setting the standard for other local clubs to follow.

Commenting on Jabloteh’s success this season of the League Championship, Lucozade Sport Big Six and most recently the Toyota Classic last Friday, Fenwick said, “I’m delighted for the club. We have worked really hard here.

“Our development plan is second to none. And when we look at all the other clubs now, like Joe Public getting rid of their foreign players and even (W) Connection losing foreign players, they are starting to look at us (Jabloteh) and wondering what are we doing right. And that’s all credits to our players; they have shown a lot of heart and character.”

Jabloteh finished the 2008 League Championship ahead of runners-up and rivals W Connection by 2 points. The duo finished the same in the Big Six with Jabloteh ahead by the same 2 points margin.

On Friday at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in the final of the Toyota Classic against St Ann’s Rangers—the final match of the season—Jabloteh won 2-1 to add the Classic to their honour role.

“Fantastic for the guys,” said an elated Fenwick following the victory. “I think we played well and deserved this (Toyota Classic title). We should have had more goals but I’m actually delighted for all my players, we’ve had a great season.

“We pressured them(Rangers) very early playing high up the pitch. We created good chances in the first half with Marvin Oliver missing a good chance in the first half. But as the game worked more on and they got more tired we started having more chances. We were resolute, our midfield three were tremendous and the back four were brilliant.”

Fenwick praised his players for their work throughout the 2008 season which led to the club’s success.

But now the former English international are looking ahead to the 2009 season and promises to boost his squad ahead of pre-season.

“We are always changing, always looking for something bigger and better. We will not sit still and in fact we are looking to sign a couple players fairly quickly. We’re on the move here, we’ve got a great squad and we are just looking to grow from strength to strength,” Fenwick ended.
