The 2011 Oasis Youth Pro League was officially launched on Friday afternoon at the VIP Lounge, Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo with main sponsor Oasis Water committing to the second season of a three-year promise with a cheque for $50,000.

“I must admit that SM Jaleel & Company Ltd is starting to see just after one year the benefits of our three year $150,000 partnership with the T&T Pro League,” said Tony Ali, General Manager of SM Jaleel and Company Ltd, the parent company of Oasis Water.

Ali added, “The mere fact that we are here again for another launch was testimony that the T&T Pro League is serious about the development of youth professional football and SM Jaleel is proud to be part of that development.”

The 2011 season kicked off last April 3 with matches in the Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17 Divisions and will continue today with round two matches.

During his brief address, T&T Pro League Chief Executive Officer, Dexter Skeene said he anticipates a very exciting menu of youth football this season.

“On behalf of the TT Pro League I extend our heartfelt gratitude to Oasis for their commitment to the youth of the nation—for their contribution to the Oasis Youth League,” continued Skeene.

Skeene revealed that matches will be aired live and delayed via WI Sports on Flow Channel 14—the TT Pro League’s official broadcast partner also revealed during Friday’s launch.

The TT Pro League CEO also urged youth players to drive the visibility of the League through the League’s website ttproleague.com and social media such as facebook and twitter which are linked to the League’s website.

“We pride ourselves in sponsoring arrangements such as the Youth Pro League, as we recognise the importance of encouraging and engaging young athletes in activities while providing a foundation for their development,” said Ali.
