T&T’s Senior Women footballers defeated Nicaragua 4-0 with goals from Ahkeela Mollon (2), Tasha St Louis and Kennya Cordner in the opening match of their CAC Games tournament in Venezuela on Saturday.
First half goals from Ahkeela Mollon and a brilliant solo effort from Tasha St Louis saw T&T with a 2-0 first half lead. St. Louis was the pick of the T&T players spraying passes and making inroads into the Nicaraguan defence.
Mollon completed her double after her shot from inside the box picked up a deflection. But was Kennya Cordner who scored the goal of the game combining with Maylee Johnson before being put through by Avanell Isaac and dribbled the keeper before hitting home.
T&T are scheduled to face Venezuela on tonight. Venezuela beat Guatemala 2-1 in their first game while Haiti defeated Puerto Rico 2-0.
