T&T will face Canada in the semi finals on Friday from 6:30pm with Haiti taking on Honduras in the other clash. Canada trounced Costa Rica 8-1 in their quarter final outing on Wednesday. Haiti enjoyed a 2-1 win over Jamaica while Honduras stopped Cayman Islands 3-2.

T&T head coach Rajesh Latchoo again gave credit to his players for their unbeaten run so far in the competition but is well aware that his team will face their toughest challenge from the Canadians.

“Firstly I’m very delighted that the girls have been able to reach this far. We entered this tournament believing in ourselves but not really sure as to how we would fare in the competition. But we got better with each game and it showed in our wins against Honduras, one of the teams from Central America and then Bahamas,” Latchoo told TTFA Media.

“The players have responded well so far. They have followed instructions and their approach to the games have been commendable. We’re well aware that the next assignment will be our toughest of the tournament so far but we’ll take on the challenge of facing a strong team like Canada. This will be a really good experience for our team because Canada are one of the powerhouses in world football and I expect the game itself to be a challenging but competitive one,” he added.
