T&T Under-15 women’s football team has been approved by Concacaf as its representative for the inaugural Youth Olympic Games next year in Singapore.
For the men’s tournament, Cuba has been selected as Concacaf’s Under-15 representative. This was among some of the decisions made by the Confederation’s Executive Committee at its regular semi-annual meeting chaired by Warner, last Monday. Concacaf also took a decision to award Honduras a third team in next season’s Concacaf Champions League, due to Belize not meeting the standards for an adequate stadium.
Concacaf allowed for a one-year grace period for teams to meet the standards. Teams were to be replaced from other countries based on the performance of their clubs in the previous Champions League. The board also approved the Central American Football Union (UNCAF) to host next year’s Concacaf Under-20 Women’s Championship in Guatemala in January and selected Costa Rica as the site of next year’s Under-17 Women’s Championship in March.
