Canada's women's U-17 team has arrived safely in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago in advance of a pair of Women's U-17 International Friendly matches. Canada will play Thursday 29 March and Saturday 31 March against host Trinidad and Tobago, with both matches to be played in the early evening.

Canada opened its most recent camp on 23 March in Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA. Before leaving for Port of Spain, the Canadian team played an exhibition match against local college side University of Central Florida on Tuesday 27 March. The Canadian team won the exhibition 2:0 with goals from Kadeisha Buchanan and Jasmin Danda.

Since last August, Canada has posted a draw and a loss against Japan, a pair of wins against Mexico, and a draw against Germany.

This marks Canada's fifth women's U-17 project since August 2011. The team is currently preparing for the 2012 CONCACAF Women's Under-17 Championship, which runs 2-13 May in Ciudad Guatemala, Guatemala. That eight-team tournament will feature Canada, USA, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Bahamas, Panama and host Guatemala. Three of the eight teams will qualify for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Azerbaijan 2012.
