T&T Under-17 Women Soca Warriors clinched a semifinal spot at the Caribbean Football Union Under-17 Women’s Championship when they whipped Barbados 7-1 at the Estadio Juan Roman Loubriel, San Juan, Puerto Rico on Monday night.

Coming off a 4-1 win in their opener against Dominican Republic on Saturday, the Rajesh Latchoo-coach T&T young women improved to a maximum six points from two matches in Group B, the same as Haiti.

However, the Haitians who followed up their 13-0 mauling of Barbados with a 3-0 shut-out of Dominican Republic in Monday’s second match lead on goal-difference from T&T ahead of their top-of-the-table last night, with both teams already assured of a spot in Friday’s semifinal.

On Tuesday, in Group A, Jamaica claimed top spot with a 2-1 top-of-the-table win over Cuba to end with seven points, one more than its rival.

And in the other match, host Puerto Rico blanked Bermuda 2-0.

Two days earlier, Sunday in Group A, Jamaica defeat Bermuda 5 -1 for its first and Cuba edged Puerto Rico, 2-1.

At the end of the tournament, the top two CFU teams will qualify for the Under-17 Concacaf Women’s Finals to be held in St George’s, Grenada, March 3-13, 2016.
