Special interest will be focused on the Under 17 players as the National Under 17 team are automatic qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Under 17 Finals to be hosted in Trinidad and Tobago in 2010. Pellerud main assignment will be to prepare the Under 17 team for the World Cup Finals but he will also be working in other areas.

The screening sessions will be conducted on Sunday January 25, at the Dwight Yorke Stadium Training Ground. The first will be from 9 a.m to 11 a.m and the second from 3 p.m to 5 p.m. All female footballers are invited to participate.

The Norwegian who was head coach of the Canada National team for the last eight years boasts an impressive resume.

Pellerud has led teams to four World Cup finals, Norway 1991 (silver), Norway 1995 (gold), Canada 2003 (fourth), Canada 2007 (ninth) and has won the award for Coach of the Year in Norway and Canada.

FIFA Vice President, CONCACAF president and Special Advisor to the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association, Jack Warner who is responsible for Pellerud coaching stint in Trinidad and Tobago stated that this begins a whole new era in T&T and boasted that there will be a women's professional League similar to the men's League, soon.

Assistant Director, Shabazz stated that in addition to the screening sessions, they are also on a special mission which is to woo the talented Mauricia Nicholson back to the National team.

According to Shabazz, Nicholson was schedule to train with the National team last year but withdrew from the training programme because she was dissatisfied with the arrangements made for her to train in Trinidad.

He noted that he understood the reasons why she withdrew and added that they were very valid. However, he said that there is a new director and a new system of operation and he thinks it is only fair that the new director has access to the best players available.
