Prolific scorer Khadidra Debesette registered a second international beaver-trick in three matches and 11th goal of the campaign as the Soca Princesses slammed St Kitts/Nevis in their penultimate Caribbean Football Union Group B qualifier at the Warner Park Sporting Complex, Basseterre on Sunday night.

Going into the clash, the Stephan De Four-coached Soca Princesses which was minus captain Anique Walker due to suspension needed only a point to cement top spot in the three-team group and qualify for the second round qualifiers.

And within a minute of the kick-off, striker Jonelle Worrick, who was drafted into the squad for Walker got the Soca Princesses off to the perfect start by netting the opener.

Four minutes later defender Marlique Assoon doubled the lead to 2-0 while Worrick added another in the 19th minute. Zoe Swift, the sister of stand-in captain Victoria Swift got her first in the 23rd minute for a 4-0 cushion inside the first half-an-hour as an embarrassing drubbing loomed for the host country.

The Soca Princesses continued to dominate the match but wasted a number of chances before the older of the Swift sisters, Victoria joined in on the scoring in the 42nd minute for a 5-0 lead at the interval.

Withing four minutes of the restart Zoe Swift fired in her second and T&T’s sixth item while Debesette got her first in the 55th minute to push the tally to 7-0 against the hapless Kittians.

Swift then completed her hat-trick in the 66th minute before the nippy Debesette, playing alongside her twin-sister Khadisha took over the scoring in the 73rd followed by two penalties in the 75th and 86th minute to complete her team’s second double-digit win in three matches.

The Soca Princesses who will host St Kitts/Nevis on tomorrow at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva from 6pm also slammed Dominica 13-0 on September 14 while they won against the same opponents 5-0 away for maximum nine points from three matches, three more than the Dominicans who have completed group play.

The  Dominicans two victories came against St Kitts/Nevis 5-0 and 2-0. Speaking after the win, De Four said he was satisfied with the effort of his players who executed the team plan very well.

“We played very well as a team. The score could have been really worst if we had put away our chances but I’m happy the girls are firing on all cylinders.

“This is just the first phase and we know we have a long way to go if we are to qualify for Azerbaijan because the next phase of the  tournament with Jamaica, Bahamas and Guyana will no doubt be tougher.

With one match left to play tomorrow, De Four said he will will give some new players a run out but does not see it as lowering the team level as all the girls in the group are very capable. “There will be a couple new starters on Wednesday (tomorrow) in addition to Walker coming back into the team from suspension.

A certain absentee for the match will be midfielder Naomie Guerre who picked up a knee injury on Sunday.

From the second round series the top three teams will advance to the Concacaf finals, the final round of qualification for next year’s FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup in Azerbaijan. T&T is seeking to qualify for its second straight FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup having hosted the 2010 edition.
