Janelle McGee is having an amazing freshmen season so far with the New Mexico Highlands University Women's Soccer team.

McGee, having scored 12 goals and 4 assists in 15 games tying her for 10th in the nation in scoring at the NCAA Division two level.

McGee is 2nd in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in goals only behind her All-American teammate Julissa Rodriquez who has 15 goals on the year.

Janelle has helped the team to be the current conference leader in goals with 38 scored in 15 games, and to the 20th best offense in the nation out of 248 NCAA teams in our division.

New Mexico Highlands University is currently on a 7 game winning streak and looking sharp after beating the 15th ranked team in the nation 4-1 this past weekend which saw Janelle score 2 goals in the match for the upset win over Colorado Mines.

She has already set a freshmen scoring record this season for most goals. However, McGee is set to miss New Mexico game this weekend as she is away training with the Trinidad and Tobago national U-20 team. T&T is preparing for the Caribbean Football Union Group B First Round Under-20 Women qualifier at the Dr Franklin Essed Stadium, Paramaribo, Suriname.

T&T will come up against the host and Cayman Islands and at the end of both games the four group winners (A, B, C & D) will compete in a round-robin tournament from which the top three advances to the eight-team Concacaf Finals to be contested next year.
 
Keenya Pierre meantime, another freshmen with T&T roots is playing well at outside midfielder for the team and currently is 4th on the team in assists with 3 on the year. Pierre, still hopes oneday T&T will come calling, in the meantime, she is enjoying life in New Mexico.
