Substitute Kevin Eastman scored a second-half double to lead Harlem Strikers to a 2-0 shut-out of Edinburgh 500 in the Central Football Association season opener at Edinburgh 500 Recreation Ground, Chaguanas on Sunday.

After a goalless first 45 minutes, Eastman opened the scoring in the 48th before sealing the victory with an 87th minute item and securing the Joseph Rattansingh Memorial Trophy which was at stake.

Sunday’s activities started with a parade of the teams with newcomers Enterprise Youths receiving the Hugo Francis Memorial Trophy by T&T Football Federation President, Lennox Watson as the winners of the Parade.

CFA President Bryan Layne welcomed all the teams, guest and spectators while Chaguanas Mayor, Orlando Naggasar conveyed best wishes.

The CFA 2012 season was declared opened by Minister Rudy Indarsingh. This year 12 teams will be competing in the CFA Premier Division with the hope of qualifying for the T&TFF “Champion of Champions”, a qualifier to the National Super League.
