Kevin Edwards and Scott Benny got a goal each as KC Perseverance blanked Perseverance Ball Runners 2-0 to reach the semifinals of the Central Football Association Sanitank League Cup at Edinburgh 500 Recreation Ground on Monday.
Edwards fired in the opener in the 28th minute while Benny added the insurance item ten minutes from full-time to set up a semi-final meeting with Enterprise Youths who dumped Premier Division champions and treble-title winners, Cunupia FC by the same margin on Saturday at the same venue.
In Saturday’s other semis, Leeds FC plays St Mary’s after the latter was awarded a win by default over last year’s winner Harlem Strikers, who failed to field a full team for its scheduled quarter-final match at Hugo Francis Recreation Ground, Woodford, also on Monday.
