Football Factory continued to make strides in its debut season in the Northern Football Association Premier Division when it sealed a second Big-Four victory, this time at the expense of Queen’s Park Cricket Club (QPCC) 1-0, on Wednesday.

The fixture took place at St Mary’s College Ground, Serpentine Road, with Football Factory soaring to six points, two above nearest challenger St Francois Nationals, which trumped Petit Valley 3-1, at Dibe Recreation Ground, Long Circular Road, at the same time.

The young Football Factory got its goal in the first half in unorthodox fashion when Jason Charles swung in a corner kick, which evaded all players before finding the back of the net.

The all-important win came just four days after they recorded a 2-1 win over Petit Valley in the first round of the Big-Four.

In the other Big-Four opener, St Francois and QPCC played to a 1-1 draw.

However, on Wednesday, St Francois recovered with a come-from-behind 3-1 victory. Petit Valley took a lead through Makesi Lewis, but his effort was quickly cancelled out by Kerron Edwards, to lock the scores 1-1 at the half.

In the second, Richard Johnson gave St Francois the lead, before Ernest Edwards secured the three points, to keep pace on Football Factory.

Action will continue on Sunday with the third round of matches, when Football Factory hosts St Francois, at St Mary’s Ground, while Petit Valley and QPCC convene at the Diego Martin North Secondary Ground. Both matches kick off at 3.30 pm.

The final round of Big-Four matches will be played in the first week in December, with the top team sealing the NFA league title and a spot in the Champions of Champions competition, a qualifier for the National Super League, T&T’s second tier football league.
